Unfortunately another busy paid work period. Did get a bit done on my boat though.  Setting up for the companion way bulkhead Cockpit side panels  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

October / November

October & November were just too busy with paid work to do anything in my boat.  It was frustrating but you have to do what you have to do. No pics.

September 2023 : Setting up Keel , Turning Hull , Starting Internal Fit Out

Setting up the Keel    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hull Upright  I didn't get any pics of rolling the hull but basically had about 8 guys, some webbing straps  & 6 tyres.  It was very easy as the hull is pretty light. I set some blocks under the boat &  removed the building jig. We then just rolled the boat onto its side on tyres & then onto  the cradle. Not complicated at all.  Back in the shed, ready to start fit out  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Starting Fit Out  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

August 2023 : Marking Waterline , Hull Cradle , Skeg , Keel & Bulb Plug

Image
Marking out the Water Line I boarded the bottom sections of the boat before I marked out the water line Note the high tech stand for my laser level  I raised the water line approximately 100mm above the design waterline  to allow for loading, etc  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Below Water Line Paint  I roller applied 2 coats of this very tough epoxy primer then sanded before  spray applying a 3rd coat. This stuff is a tough as nails.  It is a PPG product : Sigmaprime 200  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Making a Cradle  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Skeg  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keel & Lead Bulb Plug  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

July 2023 : Filling, Fairing, Filling, Fairing, Undercoating the Hull

Image
The beginning of the fairing process. Sanded the high build primer  then filled pin holes etc before the first full screed of epoxy filler     My selection of torture boards  There is a lot of shape in the forward sections of the boat  so I used shorter boards in this area Initial fairing completed & 3 coats of epoxy high build primer applied It took 2 fills and torture boarding to get the hull ready for high build primer.  Next step is to board the high build & set up to mark out the water line.  Pretty happy with the result  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Epoxy Filler : ATL Composites Technifill High Build Primer : International Paints Interprotect
